Calum Hood continues to create orderly chaos with the surprise announcement of his second single, "Call Me When You Know Better," releasing May 8. After announcing his debut solo record last month, ORDER chaos ORDER, the 5 Seconds of Summer bassist has been riding the success of his debut single "Don't Forget You Love Me," which he released alongside the album announcement. ORDER chaos ORDER will be released June 13 via Capitol Records.

While "Don't Forget You Love Me" kicked off Calum's solo career with melancholy, cinematic alt-rock, "Call Me When You Know Better" taps into distorted, rhythmic, self-deprecating pop-rock, giving fans a dualistic view on Calum's identity as a solo artist. Calum first teased the song with posts across social media featuring a dial tone phone message saying "We're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service," along with an anecdotal tease of lyrics from the song, describing the song as "an act of desperation." Hood previewed the song on social media, and will release the music video for the song along with its release.

Calum explains, “‘Call Me When You Know Better’ is a love letter in the form of an apology. For maybe not being the best lover or friend to the people who mean the most to me. Thoughts contradicting one another, talking over each other and stretching reality. It’s a reflection on mistakes made, perpetual regret and self pity.”
