Olivia Rodrigo has fans so in love they've been watching a wall in Los Angeles get repainted from purple to pink over the last few weeks, teasing her third studio album. Fans have no need to be sad any longer, as the words "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love" appeared on that wall on Melrose Avenue. A few hours later, the 23-year old singer announced her highly anticipated third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, will be released June 12 via Geffen Records.
The album artwork and title is a stark departure from Rodrigo's debut SOUR and blockbuster sophomore album GUTS, featuring pastel coloration (rather than her signature purple), and a long, winding, emotional title rather than a four-letter sucker punch. But have no fear, Rodrigo still found a way to hide the word "love" on the album cover, tucked on the exposed hem of her shorts as she swings freely in a seemingly cloudless sky.
Olivia has already unveiled multiple physical variants of the album with names such as 'static lover,' 'sticky sweet,' and 'spark in the dark,' alluding to album lyrics and tracklisting before the release. Physical media, including signed products, are available for preorder here.
