Lorde summer is officially on the horizon. Following the massive success of the upcoming project's lead single, "What Was That," the singer announced that her forthcoming album, Virgin, will be released June 27 via Republic Records.

Following her 2021 album, Solar Power, Virgin will see Lorde returning to the beat-driven sonic and raw lyricism of earlier work, including Pure Heroine and Melodrama, over its 11-song tracklisting. Along with the announcement, Lorde shared her list of collaborators on the project, including Jim-E Stack (HAIM, Gracie Abrams), Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged, Buddy Ross (Frank Ocean, Bon Iver), Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan), and Devonté Hynes (Mac Miller).

In an email to fans on the project, Lorde shared: "The colour of the album is clear. Like bathwater, windows, ice, spit. Full transparency. The language is plain and unsentimental. The sounds are the same wherever possible. I was trying to see myself, all the way through. I was trying to make a document that reflected my femininity: raw, primal, innocent, elegant, openhearted, spiritual, masc."
