She may call herself daughter from Hell, but with new music on the way, Gracie Abrams is looking more like an angel in disguise. After weeks of teasing new music and announcing her new single, "Hit the Wall," the singer/songwriter has announced that her highly anticipated third studio album, Daughter from Hell, will be released July 17 on Interscope Records.
The album's 16-song tracklist has yet to be announced, but Abrams did reveal that the full project was co-written and co-produced alongside her longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, Mumford & Sons). The two worked together on Gracie's first two albums, 2023's Good Riddance and 2024's The Secret of Us, as well as songs from her EP This Is What It Feels Like. Dessner took to social media to share "I'm deeply grateful for every sonwe have made and the way we have kept challenging ourselves and growing together as collaborators and friends, sometimes hitting the wall, and then pushing and breaking through. It has been such a journey since we began working on Daughter from Hell two years ago. We started on the same day that we recorded "That's So True" and "I Told You Things" at Electric Lady Studios in New York - multiple songs on this album were made in that time. Since then we have searched and searched for songs in Long Pond, in London and back at Electric Lady. You'll hear us expanding our musical vocabulary and pushing into uncharted waters sonically, and most of all the sharpening and deepening of Gracie's lyricism and expression in ways that continue to astound me."
The album's announcement precedes the release of "Hit the Wall" and it's music video on May 14 at 5pm PT.
