World’s First Cinema is ready to roll out their highly anticipated debut album, Something of Wonder, out July 11th via Fearless Records. The album announcement was accompanied by their latest single, “End of My Rope,” a deeply introspective track that captures the relentless pursuit of dreams, even when roadblocks keep getting in the way.
True to their name, World’s First Cinema crafts music that feels like an epic film score—big, immersive, and emotionally charged. Listening to their songs is like sitting in a darkened theater, completely absorbed in the story unfolding before you. Their debut album is designed to take listeners on a cinematic journey, blending sweeping orchestral elements, raw rock intensity, and storytelling that hits straight to the heart.
The duo, comprised of John Sinclair and Fil Thorpe explained “We’ve done heavily cinematic songs, really dark rocky songs, and orchestral piano ballads - we wanted our debut album to encompass all of these elements into a sonic journey that is glued together by the cinematic production tone we’ve always had."
Drawing inspiration from film scores, Something of Wonder expands their sonic landscape, weaving in elements of pop, EDM, and even ‘90s rock to create something bold and unique. The album was brought to life by producer Fran Hall (Imagine Dragons, ZAYN), featuring a special collaboration with London-based rapper JD Cliffe.
The 12-track album builds on the momentum of their recent releases, including the hauntingly powerful “The Underneath,” the anthemic baroque-pop track “Freak Show,” and the hypnotic “Paranoid.”
