MUNA continues to build anticipation for their upcoming album Dancing On The Wall with the release of “So What,” a powerful new single arriving ahead of the record’s May 8 release through Saddest Factory Records/Secretly Group.

The band says, “We’re at the point in our career where we’ve been to a lot fancy parties in beautiful rooms with important people and we know the particular sadness of realizing it doesn’t make you feel better. We’ve learned the hard way that validation is hollow and we actually just want connection. This is a song about going to one of those parties and leaving worse off than when we got there.”
“So What” offers another glimpse into Dancing On The Wall, the second single released from the project. Produced by Naomi McPherson, the album sees the band embracing a darker emotional edge while still delivering the euphoric, dance-driven sound that has become a hallmark of their music. Created with complete creative autonomy, the record reflects MUNA’s instinct-led approach in the studio.
Across the album, the band wrestles with themes of desire, vulnerability, and the search for genuine connection in an unpredictable world, grappling with how to keep loving and reaching for one another even as everything around us feels uncertain.
