Leaving behind the rusty neutrals and wildflowers of her latest, Grammy-nominated full-length album No One Gets Out Alive, singer/songwriter Maggie Rose has announced her new album, Half Moon, out August 14. The new project shifts Rose's aesthetic darker and more ethereal, as she announced the new project alongside the tagline "A new cycle begins. Phase 1 starts now."
The album was written and produced in collaboration with Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges) and was created periodically as Rose, Tashian and Lawrence Rothman met up in Tashian's home studio every few weeks to write. “We’d leave each session with these beautiful, fully conceived demos, and after a few songs it became apparent that something special was happening,” Rose shared.
“The sound is orchestral and wide-ranging because I was trying to capture and portray the duality within the album,” says Rose. “Like the moon, the whole of us is always there but revealed differently depending on the light.”
Physical copies of the album, including signed media, are available for preorder here. Presave Half Moon here.
