Ellise Announces New Single "Sexxxtapes" Out January 23

Ellise opens a bold new chapter in her dark-pop universe with fresh music arriving alongside the second leg of her Pretty Evil Tour. Following a series of social media teases, she officially announced her new single, “Sexxxtapes,” set for release on January 23. The track was co-written by Ellise alongside JT Foley (Nessa Barrett, blackbear) and Arthur Besnainou (Nessa Barrett, Baby Storme), with Besnainou also on production. Built on glossy, driving synths and sleek, Daft Punk–inspired vocal effects, the song showcases Ellise’s talent for blending bold pop energy with unfiltered emotion.

“‘Sexxxtapes’ is about that dizzying blur where the pain of a breakup meets the heat of a memory,” says Ellise. “It’s about the rituals we create to survive loneliness. I’ve spent a lifetime ripping myself to shreds to rebuild a ‘better,’ more flawless model for others. The process of making this song helped heal deeply rooted shame around sex and intimacy for me, finally getting real about taboo emotions that I’d usually keep tucked away.”

Rather than dramatizing the fallout of a breakup, “Sexxxtapes” lives in the after-hours—when the world is quiet and memories are loud. Ellise taps into the strange comfort of revisiting moments that were never meant to last, turning nostalgia, desire, and loneliness into something electric. It’s glossy and kinetic on the surface, but underneath, the song pulses with honesty, transforming private impulses into a bold, late-night anthem that lingers long after the screen goes dark.
