While Sabrina Carpenter may be calling men "stupid" and "slow," the princess of pop is certainly neither of those things. After unveiling her rising smash hit "Manchild" ahead of her first summer festival performance at Primavera Sound, Carpenter announced that her seventh studio album, Man's Best Friend, will be released August 29 via Island Records.
The album will feature 12 tracks, with "Manchild" leading the charge as the album opener. In a letter to fans with the album announcement, Sabrina shared "I didn't plan on releasing a new record, however when inspiration strikes, I go to the studio, and when it doesn't, I still go to the studio. But luckily life was really happening to me and inpiration struck!" Man's Best Friend comes almost a year to the day following the release of Carpenter's chart-topping Short N' Sweet, which she also remarked on in her letter to fans. "I went back to some of my favorite artists growing up, listening to a lot of Stevie, Dolly, Donna, etc., and was surprised to find so many of those artists I loved put out a new record every year for a long time. Can't say that this is or will be the norm for me but this time it really eased my mind about putting something out when it feels right!"
